Good engineers sometimes hassle anyone with a question or a task by repeating the same question over and over, "What is it you really want to do?"
A fall out from that might be, "What if you knew the pressure? What are you going to do? Compare it to SAAMI registered values? What will that do for you?"

"Ad hominem fallacy" is not the same as point by point criticism of books. If you bought the book, and believe it all, it may FEEL like an ad hominem attack, but you might strive to accept other points of view may exist.
