As I recall the maker lived in New York and was waiting until he could retire "in a couple years" so he could relocate to a more gun-friendly state and continue his project.
The original posts about the SKS-FAL hybrid were circa 2010-11, so that would mean about we should be hearing from him about... now.
I am an FAL fan and really liked the idea (still do). However, it still shocks me to read the old threads and see how much hostility his prototype stirred up.
