I think a 357 in 4-6" and a 12g is adequate for anything.

I live in a crime infested city, and in 20 years I cannot recall a single news story where the police needed anything more than what they used 60 years ago. There simply are not insurrections, heavily armed paramilitary terrorists or heavily armed crews shooting up the place like in the move Heat.

Something about police dressed in black with military weapons, armored cars and drones rubs me the wrong way - it certainly hasn't lowered the crime rate.
