If you get a proper belt and holster, weight really isnt an issue, regardless the platform. I carried 1911's, both full size and Commanders a good part of my life, and never had a problem. Same goes for the full sized SIG's, and now full sized Glocks. I often carry a 17 as well as a 26, and a double reload for the 17, with no troubles.

I have Glocks in all three versions, and of the three, the mid size really doesnt make much sense to me. The difference in size between the large and small is enough to warrant one or the other, but the mid size is really only slightly bigger or smaller, and really doesnt. At least for me thats the case.

Id choose the one you shoot the best, and go from there.
