I'll second drail on the stock Officers recoil spring cap, or plug, being problematic. I saw problems with them myself when the guns were popular as off-duty pieces.
Frankly, I'd consider a reverse-plug recoil spring assembly a requirement for any Officer I'm to carry. I've used Ed Brown's unit on several with excellent results; I believe Bill Wilson offers one as well.
