I have an encore with several barrels and it is a versatile and accurate hunting pistol. I would stay away from any -06 based cartridge ( 25-06, .270, .280, 30-06) because, as mentioned above, they are really overbore for a 15" barrel and you'll not see any performance improvement over a .308 based cartridge like the excellent above mentioned 7mm-08.
