Incidentally, for a nitpicky rant, "1954R" doesn't really make any sense.
The receiver cover will say something like "1954г" so sometimes people will just substitute the Russian letter "г" for the English "r" just because they look alike. So I guess that's ok.
It should be noted however that the Russian "г" makes the "g" sound as in the word get. The "г" in "1954г" stands for "год" which means "year."
Using the upper case "R" makes no sense because it doesn't either look or sound like what's on the receiver cover!
