hey smaug thanks for the input i am definitely leaning towards the ruger by now. i have looked outside of walmart it was there though that i noticed the savage. i started out wanting the ruger then seen the savage was 100 bucks cheaper. if i had it my way(besides the wifes way) i would get the colt ar22. ahhhh maybe one day. hell she kept me from buying a remington 870 for 50 bucks more than my mossberg 500
