Honorable mention, a Smith and Wesson M&P9.
I have decided that, when I am able to start afford collecting for real (post-student), the theme of my collection is going to be service pistols. I consider these two guns to be two of the finest modern service pistols.
Both are ergonomic, recoil comfortable, reliable, have a light rail, and have a 17+1 capacity and stacks of available accessories.
I'd include the Sig P226, but I'm not sure how much of those are still made in Germany.
