Sure a .22lr will kill a coyote at 100 yards. It may die an hour later, maybe a day, maybe a week, maybe not at all unless you hit just the right spot. Something that you, me and 99.999% of shooters and .22lr guns aren't capable of in the field.
If you're doing it for pest control all is good. If you actually want to claim your prize then give it up and get the right tool for the job.
That means centerfire cartridges 6mm/.243 or under.
