Reconsider the Red Dot for clay shooting. When shooting a moving target with a shotgun your eyes are on the target and not on the front sight or looking through optics. When you wing/target shoot if your eyes are on the target the gun will follow your eyes to the target.

Shooting shotguns is different than shooting rifles. With shotguns you need your peripheral vision (depth perception) to help judge distance to the target. In rifle shooting depth preception does not reall play a factor as the distance is not changing or changing as drastic as a fast moving target. If you are looking through any sort of optic you loose your depth perception and the anoying red dot in the center is going to distract you eye to it and not to the target.
