I've only done two things to "break in" magazines.

We had to take apart M9 magazines and clean what must have been congealed preservative out of the inside to make them work right.

I had to leave SIG P226 magazines loaded for several weeks before the springs lightened up enough to where I could get all the rounds that it was supposed to hold in there without breaking a finger.
