You are right that bolt guns last forever.
My (four) Enfield #4/Mk.1s were manufactured in 1943 or so, and both Spanish FR8 carbines have very strong, large-ring 8mm Mauser actions which must also have been built in the 40s.

Am very thankful that so many were Not bubbafied.
