>38 Special +P Again.

I’m new to reloading and have some questions. Please bear with me, as those of you that have been reloading for a while have heard the questions over and over.

I’ve looked in the archives and read what is there, but I’m still confused.

I’ll be reloading .38 special. I’m using new brass and modern guns, so I “think” I don’t have to worry about weaker brass.

I’m interested in making +P loads. My guns are either rated for +P or a .357 mag.

I’m not interested in making really hot loads, just middle of the road +P rounds.

OK. Here goes.

1. Do I need to use brass that is stamped +P or can I use .38 special brass?

2. Is there any difference between +P brass and .38 Special brass?

3. My reloading manuals talk briefly about +P but not in any detail. Are the max loads considered +P?

Many thanks in advance.
