I have been thinking about doing some local steel challenge meets near my home. I currently have a 4" barrel on my 1911. I am thinking about getting a new gun, but this time with a 5" barrel. I need to buy a holster and belt in order to go play. Is their a down side to getting 5" open top holster if I'm going to use a 4" gun for the time being. I tried a 4" gun at the gun store and could not see an issue. Am I missing something?
