9mm bullseye 124 grain rainier flat point

I loaded some rounds today following the midway site reached from the rainier ballistics site.

Their reccomendation for a plated 124 g Flat point was 3.3 to 3.9 grains of Bullseye.

Well i decided to go from 3.3 to 3.8 with an OAL of 1.090 and CCI Small Pistol primers. Well the 3.3's got out of the barrel and cycled the slide, but just barely. The shells landed on the bench. The 3.8's were a little better but not full ejection, just over the shoulder.

Anybody have any thoughts on the max load for this senerio?
