I don't really know, but (you might be well aware) there have been many discussions on the Internet about the safety issues involved with converting small ring (Spanish 7mm) to NATO 7.62 or .308.

This won't help you specifically, but I have two FR8s, and wading through the potential issues with those took me hours, and these were built with large-ring (8mm) Mauser actions.
