Not trying to nit-pic but isn't mil surplus 7.62x31?, (sorry if that's the wrong "x31" I don't have anything in that caliber). I think that the saiga is set up for nato specs but the savage would probably be .308. I don't think that it is safe to shoot 7.62nato in a .308 gun.
