The LR44 batteries are 1.5V, 150mAh and some of the 3v lithium batteries were only 57mAH, so maybe not enough power in the lithium's. Also noticed that you put 5 of the batteries in, but the picture says it uses 2. That's a big difference in available space for batteries. Is the battery cover missing a spring or something maybe?
