The scope possibilities are endless. Your going to need a scope mount and rings. What does he want the scope for? Shooting 100 yards at targets, or shooting 500 yards at deer? You can mount just about any model scope that you want on the gun but it really comes down to how powerful of a scope he wants.

Paintings were made to look at, and guns were made to be shot. If you aren't going to use them as they are intended for, get rid of them and buy a Picasso.
