My pick would be the Ruger, either GP or SP. If you have any plans for shooting it at the range then the GP100 4" barrel would be my choice. New they can be had for your price out the door.
The new Taurus revolvers can get the job done but you asked for a Glock like performance and IMO Ruger is the gun for the money and has rock solid performance that you couldn`t wear out if you tried.
