Hard chrome and shotguns

Hi All,

Had a police trade in 870 follow me home today. It's a bit rough around the edges but fundamentally sound. The chief problem is that it seems to be a parts gun. The receiver has some serious surface rust and has cleaned up OK, except for the roughness. Barrel looks brand new. Trigger group and bolt are antiseptic.

I have toyed with the idea of sending it off for a bead blast and a hard chrome - sort of a poor mans Marine Magnum. Maybe toyed is a bit weak - I've sort of setteled on the two mentioned below.

I know a lot of 1100/870 trap and skeet shooters did this in the '70's. Shot a couple and thought the idea had merit, especially in the South.

Any thoughts? Recommendations? I'm leaning towards either Metalife in PA or Coogan's in FL.
