It's not a question of sanding the stock, Kharn. If the toe of the PAD is digging in, a slight rounding will take some of the pain out. This works best for most women and barrelchested men. Use a belt sander or just a sanding block and take it slow. Doing too much will reduce the surface area in contact, thus increasing what we want to decrease.
Sometimes taking a little off the inside edge of the pad helps too. Again, go slow...
