S&W is a little more money ...but they also hold their value long term as well / and they have very good triggers.

For a 6" gun in the woods...( not sure what deer hbting is ??) ...but I'd go with a S&W 686 model ( they're stainless, the L frame is a nice weight )....good, solid guns.

You should have no trouble finding a number of 686 models at local shops or at your local gunshows hopefully ....last show I went to, 686 models in 6" were all over...( prices are $ 500 - $ 650 probably )...depending on condition.
