Girl got me a sako a7 30-06 B&C stock fluted barrel, 6.5 lbs, which will be my go to rifle here for PA whitetails + any chance I get to hit backcountry out west or up north. After much research i Just ordered a vortex viper hs 2.5-10x44 30mm tube with precision match rings and now second guessing myself, at 16.5 oz is it too much scope for what I'll call my all round mountain rifle? Maybe I should just go with the viper 3-9 x40 1in tube and call it good? Or get both and test them out at the range, any experiences?
