If it's not past 300yds, then I'd be good with a 1-4x, 1-6x, or 2.5-10x.

Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x
Swarovski 1-6x
NightForce 2.5-10x
NF 1-4x

With a $1500 budget...these scopes should be doable. The NF, you may have to shop around.
