I have only read about one that separated from the base. Nordic aluminum tubes had a problem with searing at the base when they first came out. I seen pictures of one posted on here.

I had a Choate tube extension that separated from the base. It was an easy fix but I have only seen one. It can happen with any tube extension and does.
