Reloading the 45-70 GOVT
If the crimp as all you are worried about, have you tried a "Taper Crimp"?
You can either spend 'high dollar" for a crimp die or find an old 45-70 sizer die and remove the decapping stim. You then re-adjust it to bring the flare in around the bullet.
