You know, I used to do that too, then I started wondering that one, what would happen if in trouble between store and truck? What then?

(Like the lady in the Kroger's where my wife works. It was close to xmas, and these punks waited in the parking lot for the right person, and one would innocently distract the person, while another punk would run or drive up and literally rip the purses off of usually older ladies. One lady got caught in her purse strap, and was dragged across the parking lot for nearly 100 feet. SHE WAS 70ish!!!!! The bastards were never caught, and it didn't even make the news! )

Also, I always worry, what if I leave my gun in my truck/car, and someone steals my vehicle? I have inadvertently suplied a criminal with MY GUN! I just can't bring myself to leave a firearm in a vehicle anymore.
In a perfect world I agree with you. Problem is, this world (and in particular this state's carry laws) are not perfect. I have a choice of either carrying 100% of the time and risking a felony charge, not carrying at all on days I have to go to the "do not carry" places and risk not having my gun at a time I may need it, or risk leaving a weapon locked in my truck, with my truck parked in a non-prohibited place, and have it stolen. Unfortunately I'll go with option 3.
