I have 2 Rugers an old RST and a newer Mark II. Love them both. I always wanted a .22/45, but never got one. Have you looked at Browning? Their .22s are as nice as Rugers, some would argue nicer. Not me, of course, but I do think they're quite good, and they may have the grip you're yearning for.
