everybody ive known owns a pt1911 swears by it. its like tarurs' cadillac gun or something. Lots of people cant get past that taurus name, but for that price youll end up with an armscore (ria) all the rugers ive seen have been 800+
for not much more you might get a nice springfield maybe a used colt? ruger has a cast frame, springfield has parts made in brazil, taurus uses forged frame so they say. I say if you plan to keep it, it may not be a bad choice, whatever you do dont buy one and then try to sell it.
