In this class of firearm, I carry a Beretta M85FS, single stack .380, or a Bulgarian Makarov in 9x18. Neither have ever malfunctioned and both are more accurate than they should be. The Berettas are pricey, but the Bulgie Maks can still be had at good prices if you look a bit.
