The 380 has been around and been carried for years and years (since 1912). It's not going anywhere.

I think it is too small of a cartridge for hollow point ammo to be reliable though. I think that you need more penatration.
I carry 103gr cast bullets with a huge meplat (Ranch Dog). Its an accurate round and I dont feel undergunned at all.
