I believe that the Manurhin PPK pistols have the last two digits of the production date stamped on the barrel hood so that it's visible through the ejection port.

If it was made outside the U.S. it had to be before importation was stopped in 1968.

If it's made in the U.S. it was made since 1986.

That's about the extent of my "expertise"--someone with more knowledge will likely chime in.

Just for clarity, this is all about the PPK pistol, NOT the PPK/S.
