This is in no way a Judge slam post. I have a PD Poly, and not only like it for a couple purposes, but have defended the platform on TFL many times. At 10-15
feet, the pattern with #7 1/2 is tight enough to be snake proof, and I'm sure would ruin a bushy tails day, but at just 10 yards it is very sparse with either #6 or # 7 1/2.
As you said though, for close range self defense I think it's great The Federal 000 Buck handgun loads, backed up by Winchester PDX-1 225 Gr. 45 Colt is a sure fire potential carjacker stopper!
