Both are nice, I grew up on remington's so I'm partial to them. Just like other's have said, Ford vs. Chevy 50/50... I have a remi 1100 for hunting 870 for the house, however I took my father n law and good friend to purchase 500's for the home.. Try both and roll with what feels good.
