I've owned three Kimbers. To answer the OP's question, NO they are not worth it. Based on MSRP alone. Not even factoring in the additional expenses of return shipping to Yonkers, dozens of different brands of magazines and thousands of rounds of different ammunition, all in a quest to make a Kimber 1911 run properly.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how many thousands of rounds Kimbers "break in period" is up to? IIRC it was approaching 2000 rounds last time I checked.
