Only thing I can think of is that maybe you shot the high brass stuff first and tenderized your shoulder a bit so the lighter stuff felt similar.....I dunno, I'm just making a silly guess.

Perhaps. I talked to a friend of mine that has one as well and he said the same thing so I think it may be the design of the gas system.
