This conversation is for the 1911 Full Size. The 1911 style pistol is available with all types of options; GI model, Tactical model, with front slide serrations, without front slide serrations, blue, SS, parkerized, rail, no rail, different calibers, on and on and on. The one thing that is common to all full size
1911's is the weight - it's heavy. I realize the 4 inch and 3 inch 1911 address not only the weight issue but also the reduced size make it a better pistol to carry. So that brings up the million $$ question; Is there the possibility of a polymer frame Full Size 1911 in the future? Is there a market for it? It would certainly be lighter in weight. Yes there are MANY polymer pistols similar to a 1911 but they are not a 1911. Hmmm.
