I have an antique 22long/22xlong rifle. If I was going to cut the barrel to less than 16 inches I would have to fill out all the paper work.

Now for the question

Because of the age of the gun there is no serial number. What would I put in the area where it requires a serial number on the paper work?

p.s.this is purely hypothetical, there is no way I would cut down this rifle, While it is not worth a great deal it is a great shooter has has a lot of sentimental value to me.

I would rather take a round of 50BMG to the foot than a 22short to the base of the skull. all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well...
