No, they said the warranty covered it.
They didn't say WHAT the problem was, but indicated it was a factory screw-up.
Mine looked just like yours, with a very sharp demarcation between the lighter and darker portions.
The only difference was, on mine the line was about 1-2 inches closer to the muzzle than yours.
I got it back in a couple of weeks, and it was all the same color.
They definitely refinished it, since the choke markings are added after the gun is parkerized, and when I got it back, the markings were parkerized over.
