I have a Mini 14 and when I bought it it was capable of shooting any type of 223 or 5.56 ammo, including IMI, domestic brands, handloads, Wolf and some other steel cased fodder. However, when I changed to a Shilen heavy barrel it became very picky. Would no longer accept Wolf ammo. I believe this is because of tighter chamber specs. Ruger made a slightly larger chamber to insure reliability, they digest almost all types of ammo but suffer a little in the accuracy department because of this.
Good shooting to ya', dgang
