In general, if I shoot it, I clean it. To me, disassembling, cleaning and reassembling my firearms is soothing and enjoyable. But I also enjoy mowing my lawn, which some people think is crazy.
Joking aside, some firearms require more frequent cleaning than others. I probably don't have to clean my AKs or Saiga 12 after firing a few rounds. Same with my Sig P220. My ARs on the other hand... probably a good idea to clean/lube after a range session.
