1. I'm sure Ruger will make it right, although I admit it is a pain.
2. Have your father ask which serial number range of LC9 is affected by this flaw when he sends his in with the required letter. (check yours to see if it is in the effected range of serial numbers)
3. In the meantime, wear your safety glasses.
