The rear sight is a Novak sight,it is stamped:"NOVAK"the front sight is a standard sight of unspecified origin.Ruger makes that clear on its website.
The issues are front sight related,my theory is that the front section is contacting the slide and this causes metal fatigue at the weak point where it becomes the dovetail section.
