yeah these and many others like them help with the bink" nosie the 10/22 makes when the bolt slams back. make sure to keep a spare buffer handy, because they do break/breakdown after several thousand uses, but they sure do quiet down the 10/22.

Also, depending on which kind of buffer you get you might want to remove it when cleaning with solvents. I had one litterally turn to goo when hoppes solvent came in contact with it.
