Literally, with the information you've given us, we can tell you this.

You have a gun.

It was apparently made by Smith & Wesson.

It MIGHT be a revolver, or it could be one of their semi-auto .45s.

It could be old.

It could be new.

It could be chambered in .45 Schofield. It could be chambered in .45 ACP. It could be chambered in .45 Colt.

It could be nickel plated. It could be blued. Or it could be stainless steel.

Now that we've done all we can to tell you what you MIGHT have, it's time for you to start telling us what you have.

A good place to start is with the markings on the barrel, inside the crane cut (if it's a revolver) and on the bottom of the grip (also if it's a revolver).

Another good thing would be for you to take some pictures of it and post them.

Until you can provide just a bit more information, there's not a lot we can tell you.
