If your gonna get a 270, it doesn't get any finer than a Jack O'Connor. The reputation and history all wrapped up in one specific caliber is very rewarding. If you can find one, snag it, you will never loose any money on it.
Read a few of Jacks's books "The Hunting Rifle" is a great one and you will NEED to own a 270.

. All kidding aside the books ballistics and the game that was killed with instant one shot kills are very educational, impressive, and this is with older bullet technology. Sorry for being a enabler......
