What do you guys think about using a pretty much stock Sig P220 for either steel plate challenge or NRA Bullseye shoots? Comps I speak of are nothing fancy, just some local events which are organized and run by a gun club I am a member of.

I've been doing a bunch of research on this and I can't say that I've come across a great deal of info regarding people using sig p220's in comps. I'm wondering if this is due to me being lousy at searching, its un-suitability for comp use or what have you.

Assuming for a moment that its the former, what would you say are a must have mods for a P220 to be of any use? Is it viable to install some sort of slide mounted reflex sight? Would something like that be of benefit? Or should I just stick with iron sights for now?
