I read a magazine article once on defining the difference between "cover" and "concealment." Think of it this way, there could be a million dollars in unmarked bills hidden in an old rusty car with a flat tire, and very few people would even remember seeing the entire car.

For our old home, I had a friend who is a cabinet maker build me a very beautiful shadow box. It was constructed with a hollow space for a Glock 23 and a few spare magazines.

We lived there for +15 years, entertained numerous guests, most of them avid gun guys, and not one--not one--ever wanted me to open that hidden safe. In fact, no one ever commented on it as a thing of beauty.

I wonder if we put too much value on armor-plating, and not enough thought to alternative ideas.
